A wonderful place to paint.

The City of Bath is unique, a world-famous destination where, for more than two thousand years, artists and craftsmen have been inspired by a very special place. In 2009, with the launch of The Bath Prize, those artists included more than 100 professional and amateur painters who enjoyed producing at least one painting inspired by a specified location in the Georgian heart of the City.

Bigger and better in 2010

This summer The Bath Prize will build on it’s initial success with more prizes, more sponsors and more artists attracted to the City from across the UK and from overseas. To ensure that the whole of the City is covered, entrants will again be required to produce their first painting from a location allocated by ballot. Artists can sketch or photograph their subject and complete the work elsewhere and are invited to choose another location for a second and subsequent entry.
