A wonderful place to paint.

bath abbeyThe City of Bath is unique, a world-famous destination where, for more than two thousand years, artists and craftsmen have been inspired by a very special place. The city was selected by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 1987 recognising its outstanding value and cultural significance. Surrounded by limestone hills that provided much of the stone used to create its famous Georgian crescents and terraces, the city also retains aspects of Iron Age, Roman and Medieval occupation. These, together with the the River Avon, the first few locks of the Kennet and Avon Canal, City parks and more modern commercial development, provide a wonderful opportunity and challenge for painters.
